PS Indy opens in 2 months

The doors to Protospiel Indy open on March 13, two months from today! Here’s what you can do to get ready:

Save $15 on your three-day designer badge by registering at https://protospiel-indy.org before February 13th.
If you need lodging, book it now. Recommendations from last year’s attendees include Hampton Inn and Suites and Clarion Pointe Indianapolis.
Help spread the word. Print and share these flyers wherever you play games.
Once you’ve registered, list your prototypes here, and mark interest in the games that you want to playtest.

Protospiel Indy is only 3 days away! Badges have been printed, snacks purchased, coffee ordered, and the prototypes list is filling up.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to our new venue! Launch Fishers is a co-working space that we’re able to use through an arrangement with our sponsor, GravityDrive. We’ve talked about doing this for years and we finally got it worked out.

We’re doing setup on Thursday evening. Afterward, around 6:30/7:00, some people plan to gather at Four Day Rays in Fishers for dinner and maybe some early testing. Contact us if you’re interested in joining so we can make an estimate for a reservation.

Various Happenings

New Logo

We have a new logo!

Thank you to everyone who contributed designs, ideas, and opinions. Some of you worked pretty hard on this! Ultimately we looked at logos for a lot of other brands and realized that we needed something that was simple but effective in a variety of contexts. That said, we’ve been thinking for years that we’d love to have Indy TTGC &/ Protospiel Indy tee shirts, and now we’ve got a great start on designs for that. Thank you all for your contributions to our community.

Upcoming Events

Indiana UXPA 2025 Kickoff and Game Day, this upcoming Saturday, February 22 – Play games and playtest your games with user experience designers, prototypes are welcome. (This is at Launch Fishers, the venue for Protospiel Indy 2025.)

Our next playtest session is planned for Saturday, March 15 at The Game Preserve North.

The first ever Protospiel Kansas City will be on April 04-06 – Carl is looking for carpool partners!

Who’s Yer Con, April 18-20 at Indianapolis Marriott East – Let Carl know if you are hosting an event!

Game Design Workshop at Indy Design Week – Saturday, April 26 – Contact Carl to demo / playtest your game!

The doors to Protospiel Indy open on May 24, less than one month away!

Get your designer badge before May 4th, when the price increases from $50 to $65!

After you get your badge:

If you’re coming from out of town, find a place to stay, ASAP. (Honestly, on 500 race weekend in Indy, it may already be too late.)
List your prototypes!
