June 21 Playtest Log

Jay Payne's _Dealt Dungeon_ (working title)

Thanks to everyone who participated in last Saturday’s playtest session at The Game Preserve North! We had 11 attendees and we playtested at least 5 games.

  • Mickie’s Kingdoms of Old Lavanthria
  • Jay’s Dealt Dungeon (working title)
  • Scott’s Adventures in Air Conditioning Repair
  • David’s (game name?)
  • Richard’s Delpzeller Galaxy Mission

We had 7 more playtesters arrive a bit late, with no designer available at that time to provide a prototype for them to play! We need a way to handle this in the future. Here’s what I propose:

  1. Whenever possible, ask designers to not playtest their own games.
  2. If two or more playtesters are waiting, one designer volunteers to step out of a playtest-in-progress to run a game for them.
  3. The designer of the playtest-in-progress fills the volunteer’s position.

Our next playtest session is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 at The Game Preserve North at noon. (Carl will be late, please start without him!)

Protospiel Indy is Open!

3 days!

Protospiel Indy is only 3 days away! Badges have been printed, snacks purchased, coffee ordered, and the prototypes list is filling up.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to our new venue! Launch Fishers is a co-working space that we’re able to use through an arrangement with our sponsor, GravityDrive. We’ve talked about doing this for years and we finally got it worked out.

We’re doing setup on Thursday evening. Afterward, around 6:30/7:00, some people plan to gather at Four Day Rays in Fishers for dinner and maybe some early testing. Contact us if you’re interested in joining so we can make an estimate for a reservation.
