Various Happenings

New Logo

We have a new logo!

Thank you to everyone who contributed designs, ideas, and opinions. Some of you worked pretty hard on this! Ultimately we looked at logos for a lot of other brands and realized that we needed something that was simple but effective in a variety of contexts. That said, we’ve been thinking for years that we’d love to have Indy TTGC &/ Protospiel Indy tee shirts, and now we’ve got a great start on designs for that. Thank you all for your contributions to our community.

Logo Redesign

We’re considering a redesign of our logo! Here are our considerations:

  1. The logo should convey themes related to Indianapolis / Indiana, tabletop games, and design.
  2. The logo must work well at the size of a computer icon (~50px square), or have a distinctive element that can be used at that size.
  3. The logo should have an option to include or be accompanied by the text “Indy TTGC” or “Indy TableTop Game Creators”. However, the ideal logo would be recognizable without such text.
  4. The logo should work equally well on a black or a white background.
  5. The colors of the logo support a rebranding of this web site to use a brighter color palette than the current royal blue and cranberry.
  6. The ideal logo could be rendered in black against white.

Below are a number of ideas for consideration. Several of these are just sketches, for purposes of ideation. We expect the final logo will contain elements from more than one of these ideas.

1. Indiana (Combines the state outline with the Indy city flag, adding some game and design elements)
2. Fade (A logo showing a transition from design to final rendering)
3. Table (Depicts game and design elements atop a block made from the word INDY)
4. Monument (A morphing of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument with a game pawn)
5. Victory (The Victory statue at the top of the S&S Monument as a meeple)
6. Grid (A variation on the Indy city flag, combined with game and design elements)
7. City (The Indy skyline with pawns and meeples, and a hand of cards showing the Indy city flag on the back)

In the comments, or in this Google Form, please share what you like &/ dislike about each of these ideas, as well as any suggestions to combine &/ improve them. Thank you!
